WordCamp Masaka 2025 was a completely different kind of experience for me I was not just attending, I was on stage as a speaker.
WordCamp events are globally recognized community conferences centered around WordPress the world’s most popular website platform. This particular event brought together developers, designers, bloggers, and educators from across Uganda and beyond.
🎤 My Role as a Speaker
I delivered a hands‑on session on Full Site Editing (FSE) a modern WordPress feature that allows users to customize every part of their websites, from headers and footers to templates and global styles, all without touching code.
🌱 What I did in my session:
✅ Introduced learners to the concept of Full Site Editing in WordPress.
✅ Demonstrated how to use the block editor to build dynamic layouts.
✅ Guided participants through customizing their themes live, step‑by‑step.
✅ Answered questions and helped them try out the tools on their own laptops.
Seeing learners gain confidence in using these tools was the highlight of my talk.

Full Site Editing empowers anyone teachers, small businesses, bloggers to design beautiful, functional websites without hiring a developer. It lowers the barrier to entry and encourages more people to get online and tell their stories.

Enjoyed a family‑friendly atmosphere, attending with my little one, showing that technology events can be inclusive and welcoming.

Speaking at WordCamp Masaka gave me a platform to share my skills, inspire others, and grow my own expertise.
It also deepened my passion for teaching and community building in the tech space.
Looking ahead:
I plan to continue speaking at future WordCamps and workshops—spreading knowledge, helping others build amazing websites, and growing Uganda’s tech ecosystem.
